MTC busses accept 2000rs. Tamil Nadu MTC buses will continue to accept ₹2000 notes for ticket purchases.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to discontinue the ₹2000 denomination currency notes from circulation, but these notes will remain legal tender.
Citizens can deposit ₹2000 notes into their bank accounts and/or exchange them for other denominations at any bank branch up until September 30, 2023. However, the State Transport Department has clarified that notes not used for the purchase of bus tickets will not be exchanged.
